Hi!

Is it possible for MEncoder to automatically detect the aspect ratio of the source content and adapt to it? The problem crops up when I try to encode DVB-T source material from a TS file which starts of as 4:3 (commercials) and switches to 16:9 (TV content). The encoder does not detect aspect ratio changes and thus borks the output.

You want the aspect to change within the Video?
I doubt that is possible with MEncoder. Maybe Avisynth can do that...
